Kelly Clarkson recently shared surprising details about an interaction with a former manager who recommended she undergo cosmetic surgery. The 43-year-old singer made the revelation during her Las Vegas concert residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions, on November 8.
During the performance, Clarkson disclosed that an “imbécil” (jerk) manager once suggested she get breast augmentation surgery.
Clarkson’s response to the unsolicited advice was immediate and unfiltered. She recounted asking the manager: “Why don’t you get a penis enlargement?”.
The singer emphatically stated that she is satisfied with her natural appearance, telling the manager, “I’m fine with my little boobs! Get out of here!”. She concluded her perspective on the topic by stressing that she likes her small breasts because “They’ve served me well”.
Clarkson used the story to highlight the intense and often bizarre pressure placed on celebrities. She asked the audience, “Who says such nonsense?” before noting that people in the industry constantly say the most outrageous things, resulting in the “normalization of madness”.
She compared the pressures on celebrities to living in “The Hunger Games’ Capitol”. Her simple advice to everyone, especially those in the industry, is to concentrate on yourself. She emphasized the importance of autonomy: “Do what you want… Don’t force me to do what you want”.
The conversation about body image comes as Clarkson has been open about her own process of weight loss, which included diet, exercise, and medication.
Although people often speculate that she lost weight using Ozempic, Clarkson denies this.
Here are the facts about her recent health journey:
