Paris Jackson, the 26-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, has confirmed that her engagement to actor Justin Long has ended — and she admits the split brought her to tears.

Jackson shared the news on July 31 via X (formerly Twitter), revealing that she was “crying” over the separation. Emotional photos, first published by the Daily Mail earlier this month, showed the singer processing the heartbreak.

The announcement comes as a surprise to fans. When Jackson revealed her engagement in December, she gushed on Instagram that she “couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect” for her. As recently as June, she told Access Hollywood she was deep into wedding preparations.

“The dress is being made, the venue is already chosen, and the date was picked by an astrologer — because I’m from Los Angeles,” she said at the time. “I’m passionate about crystals, astrologers, and all that.”

Now, those plans are off. The reason for the split has not been disclosed.

Jackson, who marked five years of sobriety from alcohol and heroin in January, has been steadily building her music career since releasing her debut album Wilted in 2020. She’s followed it with several EPs and singles, and recently toured with the band Incubus. On July 18, she celebrated her summer on the road, calling it “amazing so far” in an Instagram post.
